We reported earlier that the UFC on FOX 9 event would be headlined by the UFC lightweight title fight between champ Anthony Pettis and challenger Josh Thomson. UFC officials have announced two more bouts for the event according to the official UFC Twitter account:

Jorgensen (14-7) will be moving down to the flyweight division to take on Ian McCall on the UFC on FOX 9 event in December. Jorgensen is coming off a submission loss to Urijah Faber in April and will be looking to breathe new life into his career with a change in weight divisions. He’s currently (3-3) since coming over to the UFC after the WEC promotion folded, winning “Fight of the Night” honors twice during that time frame.

McCall (12-4-1) finally got his first UFC win in his last outing against Iliarde Santos at UFC 163. McCall had gone (0-2-1) in three UFC fights with both losses coming against the two best flyweights in the world in Joseph Benavidez and champion Demetrious Johnson.

Chad Mendes (15-1) isn’t waiting around to see if he’s going to get a title shot rematch against Jose Aldo. Mendes will be taking on Nik Lentz on the UFC on FOX 9 card. Mendes defeated Clay Guida in his last outing at UFC 164 via TKO, and has won four consecutive fights since his only loss to Aldo at UFC 142.

Lentz (24-5-2, 1NC) is coming into this bout on a three fight winning streak and most recently defeated Hacran Dias in May. Lentz used to compete as a lightweight and hasn’t lost since dropping down to the featherweight division.

The UFC on FOX 9 event will take place on December 14 in Sacramento, California. Stay tuned to ProMMAnow.com for more UFC on FOX 9 news and coverage.
