UFC officials have announced that a heavyweight bout between Josh Barnett and Travis Browne has been added to the UFC 168 event slated for December 28th.

The UFC 168 event will be headlined by the UFC middleweight rematch between champion Chris Weidman and challenger Anderson Silva. The co-main event will feature the UFC women’s bantamweight title fight, a rematch between champion Ronda Rousey and challenger Miesha Tate.

Barnett (33-6) is coming off a successful UFC return in his last outing with a first round TKO win over former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. Barnett has gone (10-1) since 2008 with the lone loss coming against Daniel Cormier in May 2012.

Browne (15-1-1) is coming off the biggest win of his career, a first round KO win over Alistair Overeem last month. Browne has won via first round KO in each of his last two outings, and will be looking to put himself into title contention with a win over a top fighter in Barnett.
