UFC_166_posterThe UFC 166: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos III card is set to take place in Houston, Texas, on October 19, and will take place at the Toyota Center. The event will be headlined by the heavyweight trilogy between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos with a heavyweight co-main event between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson. UFC officials have announced 12 bouts for the card with preliminary bouts airing online and FOX Sports 1.

Junior dos Santos defeated Velasquez at the inaugural UFC on FOX show in November 2011 via KO in 64 seconds to become the UFC heavyweight champion. However, Velasquez was able to defeat dos Santos via a dominant unanimous decision at UFC 155 in December 2012 to reclaim the UFC championship.

The co-main event will feature a heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson. Both fighters have been verbally sparring with one another in the past, and both will be looking to make statements in this upcoming fight.
