tonyfergusonUFC officials have announced another bout for the upcoming UFC 166 event that’s slated to take place on October 19 in Houston Texas, at the Toyota Center.

A lightweight bout between season 13 TUF winner Tony Ferguson and Mike Rio has been verbally agreed upon.

Ferguson (13-3) is coming off a unanimous decision loss in his last outing against Michael Johnson in April 2012. Rio (9-2) is coming off a submission loss to Fransicso Trinaldo in May. Both fighters will be looking to get back on the winning side of things in what will be a pivotal fight in their careers.

The UFC 166 event will be headlined by the rubber match between UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and challenger Junior dos Santos. Dos Santos took the title away from Velasquez via knockout in November 2011, but Velasquez was able to avenge his only defeat in December 2012 by defeating JDS via unanimous decision.

The UFC 166 fight card is below:

  • Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos
  • Nate Marquart vs. Hector Lombard
  • Diego Sanchez vs. Gilbert Melendez
  • Tony Ferguson vs. Mike Rio
