FORMER middleweight title contender Pavel Kusch (13-4) will return to CWFC action to take on Chris Scott (6-2) in the first bout to be officially announced for Cage Warriors 58 in Chechnya on Saturday, August 24.

Kusch’s last Cage Warriors outing saw him pipped at the post by Chris Fields for the CWFC middleweight belt in the final of the promotion’s eight-man title tournament at CWFC Fight Night 7 in Jordan last September.

The 25-year-old Ukrainian, who’ll be fighting for CWFC for the fourth time, has taken all 13 of his wins by submission, 11 of which have come in the first round.

“I am very happy to be fighting at Cage Warriors again and I’m determined to get the win,” said Kusch. “I also want to put on an entertaining fight against a tough opponent.”

Scott (pictured) will be searching for his first CWFC win, having suffered a unanimous decision loss to Mats Nilsson on his promotional debut at Cage Warriors 53 in Glasgow in April.

Similar to his next opponent, the 30-year-old Englishman has also picked up all of his career wins by submission.

Scott said: “When I signed for Cage Warriors this was exactly what I wanted: big fights against big names, whether that be in the UK or abroad.

“My last bout didn’t go to plan but I can only take the positives from it. For this fight I’ll be a more focused and more confident fighter.”

More fights are still to be announced for CWFC 58. Keep track of Cage Warriors on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news and updates.
