The bout between Shawn Jordan and Pat Barry almost guaranteed fireworks to kick off the main card of UFC 161. The show would not last long however. Shawn Jordan used a flurry of uppercuts and a barrage of left hands to put Barry away in just 59 seconds.
Pat Barry came out with a sizzling kick upstairs then landed another stinging inside leg kick to start. Jordan kept calm and fired back over the top before landing a flush right hook. Jordan stayed on the attack, stunning Barry with a brutal uppercut that would mark the beginning of the end for “HD.”
Two more follow up uppercuts sent Barry reeling to the canvas. Jordan pounced, pouring on a flurry of unanswered left hands forcing the referee to step in and stop the onslaught.
The dominating victory for Shawn Jordan moves him to 15-4 overall, and improves his UFC record to 3-1.
