Former XFC lightweight champion Nick Newell announced that he has signed with the World Series of Fighting promotion according to this Twitter account:

Newell (9-0) was stripped of his XFC title because he refused to defend it against Scott Holtzman. Newell had been actively campaigning to get his shot in the world’s largest MMA promotion (UFC), and recently stated that he was getting attention from all of the major organizations except the UFC. It appears that he was satisfied with what the WSOF organization brought to the table and will make his debut later this year. He was last in action at XFC 21 in December where he submitted Eric Reynolds to win the XFC lightweight title.
