Velasquez vs Bigfoot
Velasquez vs Bigfoot

Cain Velasquez continued his reign as UFC heavyweight champion, taking out “Bigfoot” Silva in devastating fashion just 1:21 into the main event at UFC 160.

The champion came out looking for takedowns early but failed on his first two attempts. He then went to his speed. Velasquez used precise head movement and leg kicks to attack in range before stepping back out of danger. Instead it was Silva that stepped into danger, getting beat to the punch by a counter-right hand from the champion. The punch buckled Silva and Velasquez pounced, hovering over the turtled Silva and dropping a steady dose of unanswered right hands forcing the referee stoppage.

The impressive win by Cain Velasquez (12-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) marks another successful title defense and likely sets up another showdown with former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos.
