[ads2]forrest griffin-ufc134UFC President Dana White announced the retirement of former UFC light heavyweight champion and TUF 1 winner Forrest Griffin at the beginning of the UFC 160 post-fight press conference.

“He is staying with the UFC…he will have some role…some title…and hopefully he’ll work more than Chuck Liddell.”

Griffin stated that injuries have pretty much forced him to retire, stating that he’s had to pull out two out of his last three fights due to injury. Griffin was last seen in action at UFC 148 which was the retirement fight for Tito Ortiz. Griffin won that fight and and the trilogy between those two fighters. He won three of his last four fights with the loss coming against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 134.
