The event was originally supposed to be headlined by UFC interim bantamweight title fight between champion Renan Barao and challenger Eddie Wineland. However, Barao was forced to withdraw from the event this week with an injury. The new main event will be the orginal co-main event, a light heavyweight bout between former champion Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson.

Nelson (19-7) is riding a three fight winning streaking in which he has stopped all three opponents via KO in the very first round. He finished Cheick Kongo at UFC 159 via KO to win his second “Knockout of the Night” award in his last three bouts.

Miocic (9-1) is coming off the first professional loss of his career, a TKO loss to Stefan Struve in September 2012. He had won three consecutive bouts in the UFC prior to that fight with two of those wins coming via TKO.
