With AXStv’s signing of Championship Fighting Alliance to their roster of regional MMA programming, transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox (2-0) will make her national television debut next month when she takes on Allanna Jones (2-1) at CFA 11 in Coral Gables, Fla.

Fox and Jones will square off in the Florida promotion’s Women’s Featherweight Tournament semifinals. Fox knocked out Ericka Newsome in just 39-seconds in the quarterfinal round on March 2, while Jones advanced with a split decision win over Kelsey De Santis.

CFA 11 will broadcast LIVE on AXStv on Friday, May 24, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT from the Bank United Center in Miami, Fla. The card will be headlined with a heavyweight match-up between veterans Valentijn Overeem (30-28) vs. Mike Kyle (19-9-1).

Fallon Fox has been the talk of the MMA world for weeks now, ever since she revealed she had gone through gender reassignment surgery several years ago. And everyone seems to have an opinion on the matter, regardless how uninformed they might be.

In fact, UFC heavyweight Matt Mitrione was suspended last week after making derogatory comments about Fox during an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour podcast.

Andrew Simon, CEO of AXStv Fights, commented on bringing CFA and Fox to the network:

“Fallon Fox’s story transcends the MMA community and has led to spirited debate on the topic of transgender athletes involvement in professional sports. AXS TV is proud to provide her and all the CFA fighters the opportunity to compete in front of a national television audience.”

Other bouts on the CFA 11 televised main card include Luis Palomino vs. Robert Washington, Alexis Vila vs. Czar Sklavos, Mike King vs. Oscar Delgado, and Sean Soriano vs. Elvin Brito for the CFA Interim Featherweight Title.
