the ultimate fighter black logoUFC President Dana White announced that “The Ultimate Fighter” show will be moving from FX and will debut on FOX Sports 1 later this year. He made the announcement on the TUF 17 Finale that aired Saturday night on FX.

The show will feature two women coaches for the very first time and will also involve men and women contestants living in the “TUF House” for the very first time. The show will premiere on September 4 at 10 p.m. ET.

“Bringing The Ultimate Fighter to FOX Sports 1 is like adding a big bat to an exciting young lineup,” said Shanks.  “TUF has jump-started the careers of dozens of fighters, many who have gone on to become UFC champions.  It’s going to be a welcomed addition to FOX Sports 1, and the perfect anchor for our Wednesday prime time UFC block.  We’re absolutely thrilled to have it.”

The two coaches will be UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. She’ll be opposed by Cat Zingano, who earned the spot by defeating Miesha Tate at the TUF 17 Finale via third round TKO.

Zingano will challenge Rousey for the UFC women’s bantamweight title later this year once the show is complete.
