Cavalcante Cut

MMA veteran Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante took on MMA prospect Justin Gaethje at the World Series of Fighting 2 event in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Saturday night. There where many fans that had never heard of Gaethje prior to the fight, but after a very good performance and a nasty fight ending cut he induced on Cavalcante’s forehead, that will probably change from here on out.

Gaethje began the fight with constant pressure on Cavalcante, landing punches and constantly keeping the veteran on his heels. Initially, Gaethje opened up the cut you see on top of Cavalcante’s head, however, the fight ending cut came just a bit later in the first round.

Cavalcante didn’t seem phased by the cut and wanted to continue fighting, but the cageside doctor’s were not hearing that and stopped the fight. The move probably saved Cavalcante from further damage and an incredibly ugly scar which may sustain anyway.

Be on the lookout for Gaethje who keeps his undefeated streak alive at (8-0), and has now stopped seven of his eight opponents.
