RESULTSThe next stop on the At Large Nutrition section of Furby’s World Tour of Supplements focuses on the ALN product, RESULTS.  In case you missed my review of ALN’s BCAA+, you can check out that review here.

This review comes at a great time for fans of At Large Nutrition products – today only (Monday, 3/18/13), until midnight, ALN is offering 30% off of all their products.  Simply use the code STPATRICK at checkout and this will take 30% off your entire order.

RESULTS is an unique post-workout drink.  Unique in terms of the ingredients, and top-notch in terms of taste.  From the At Large Nutrition Facebook page:

AtLarge Nutrition’s RESULTS is the single most effective non-hormonal training aid on the market. Why? No other product can match it ingredient for ingredient to include dosing.

5g Creapure® creatine monohydrate
3.5g Beta-Alanine
3g HMB
50g dextrose

The dextrose is included to provide:

– glucose substrate for glycogen replenishment post-workout.
– a potent stimulus for a post-workout insulin release which will help to drive the ergogenic ingredients to your muscle cells and to supramaximally enhance both protein and glycogen synthesis.

The combination of creatine, Beta-Alanine, and HMB in RESULTS works in both a synergistic and additive fashion to give you increased lean muscle mass, increased absolute strength, and increased strength endurance.

RESULTS should be taken post-workout on training days and with a meal on off days (it must be used 7 days per week to receive its full benefits).  2 scoops in water or mixed with a protein shake after training. On off days 2 scoops in water or a protein shake taken with a meal (timing is not particularly important – you pick the meal).

I was given the opportunity to try the fruit punch flavor of RESULTS (currently on backorder until 4/10/13) – and ALN now also offers a Blue Raspberry flavor (available as of 3/18/13).  Not unlike the BCAA+, the flavor for RESULTS is excellent, and even mixed simply with water, is extremely refreshing after a tough workout.

The powder mixes easily in a shaker cup with a blender ball, and any settling is quickly remedied with a quick shake in between drinks.  Once mixed, there is not a grainy consistency.

One serving (2 scoops) of RESULTS comes in at 200 calories, 0g fat, and 50g carbohydrates.  A bottle comes with 30 servings for $49.95 plus shipping ($1.67 per serving).  Similar products that I found typically retail for about $1.60 per serving, so the comparative cost is reasonable, and the excellent taste of RESULST makes that extra $.07 per serving definitely worth it.

I took results over the same 20 day period in which I took BCAA+, and during that time, increased the number of repetitions I was doing three times during the period, and increased the overall weights I was using once.  The ALN website also makes the following claims:

If your goals are increased size, strength, athleticism, and or improved body composition (less body fat), RESULTS is a must have supplement.

We challenge you to try RESULTS and compare! No other product on the market can provide its winning combination of:

– Increased muscular size

– Increased muscular strength

– Increased strength endurance and endurance

– Enhanced recovery

– Increased explosive power

It already sounds too good to be true, but it gets even better; RESULTS can do the all of the above and more, AND it is SAFE!

Buy one jug of RESULTS and we guarantee you will see improvement in your workouts and or your sport (well, probably not your bowling game, but you get the idea ;) ).

As many of the readers of ProMMANow.com are more involved in combat sports, I wanted to see what RESULTS could offer me in terms of endurance and “explosive power” in my boxing workouts, particularly the heavy bag workout.  To measure my informal (as in not scientifically measured) results, I would throw as many power shots as possible, as hard as possible, without stopping in a three minute period.

In a typical workout, I would lift, and then either work strictly on the heavy bag and speedbag, or alternate boxing workouts with time on the elliptical.  Prior to using RESULTS, I could get up to about a minute and a half of throwing hard shots one right after the other, and that was my highest.

After ten days of using results, I added almost a minute to that.  Were all of these shots knockout shots?  Probably not.  But I do know that my endurance and number of total hard shots I could throw without resting had greatly increased.  Based on my informal results, I am confident in saying that while RESULTS was useful for me and could definitely be useful for combat sports athletes, I am sure it would offer even stronger results for hardcore lifters.
