Well I certainly have been surrounded by some enthusiastic chatter during my travels in MMA since my last entry. I had the pleasure of working in Miami last week covering the CFA show. It was a fantastic experience and I look forward to future events with them.

Soon after a whirlwind of media took off as one of the fighters ignited the topic of transgender fighters. That same night while taping hands Alistair Overeem was in the dressing room, another fighter that has earned a few paragraphs in media outlets.

I try and avoid drama when I can, the sport is too volatile to get involved with anything that will rub people wrong and jeopardize my place in the sport. I see a lot, I hear a lot, and I respect people’s privacy and confidentiality.

I also feel I’m in a position of trust so I maintain that whenever appropriate. But it certainly is interesting to be a part of the behind the scenes view of an event and all that comes with it. It’s one of the great parts of my job, even if it means seeing the sad moments alongside the happy ones.
