BAMMA 12 took place today at Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England. The event was headlined with a welterweight match-up between one of England’s premiere welterweights “Judo” Jim Wallhead (24-7) and UFC veteran Matt Veach (16-5).
Wallhead opened Veach up with punches and dropped him about two minutes into the first round. Wallhead continued his assault with ground and pound, forcing Veach to give up his back which allowed Wallhead to sink a the fight-ending rear-naked choke at the 3:05 mark.
Also, undefeated Swede Max Nunes (10-0) took out Pole Marcin Lazarz (5-1) with strikes for a third round TKO win in the co-main event, and England’s Curt Warburton (12-3) defeated Scotland’s Steven Ray (12-4) for the British Lightweight Championship.
