Former featherweight number one contender Chad Mendes was scheduled to take on Manny Gamburyan at UFC 157 next week, but Gamburyan had to withdraw from the bout due to injury.

Mendes was pulled from the card because no fighters were willing to take the fight on such short notice. However, Mendes will now take on Clay Guida at the UFC on FOX 7 event that’s set for April 20 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. USA Today/MMAJunkie first reported the news.

Mendes (13-1) last fought in December when he took out Yaotzin Meza via KO in the first round. It was his second consecutive victory since getting knocked out in his title fight against UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
