ian_mccallTop-ranked flyweights Ian McCall a.k.a. “Uncle Creepy” and Joseph Benavidez face-off this Saturday in Las Vegas as part of the UFC 156 main card live on Pay-Per-View.

ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) reporter Dan “The Wolfman” Theodore recently spoke with McCall about the upcoming fight, how his preparations were coming along, his weight and how he sees the fight with Benavidez playing out.

McCall said physically everything is great, but did allude to some problems in his personal life saying, “This is probably one of the worst mental camps I’ve ever had. I’m on point in the gym, my life is a f— mess outside the gym.”

McCall also talked about the UGUCTT (Underground Uncle Creepy Top Team) fan club on The Underground forum, Team Oyama’s recent success and why he feels 2013 is going to be their year.

McCall also addressed the issue of why some MMA fans don’t seem to get too excited with the lighter weight classes — and why that shouldn’t be a problem when he and Joseph Benavidez step in the Octagon against one another:

“No one likes Demetrious [Johnson] because he’s got the personality of cheese. I like him on a personal level. The guy is way nicer than me on a personal note. He’s super cool. He just doesn’t translate well. And Dodson is annoying; another guy that I like, you know, I can hang out with him. He just comes off as annoying. That’s why people don’t like them. That’s the conclusion I’ve come to. Maybe, I don’t know. Maybe I suck. But at least people like me and Joe and people are going to watch us beat the crap out of each other.”
