The UFC on FOX 6 was a success and four fighters went home with fight bonuses for their efforts. UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, John Dodson, Anthony Pettis, and Ryan Bader earn $50,000.
Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson fought at a frantic pace in the main event to earn the “Fight of the Night” bonus. Johnson earned the unanimous decision victory by using constant pressure and transitioning between striking, clinching, and takedowns. Dodson dropped Johnson a couple of times in the second round, but could not gather much momentum afterwards.
Anthony Pettis earned the “Knockout of the Night” bonus for his first round TKO win over Donald Cerrone. Pettis started the fight by landing a couple of nice right hand counters. He also landed a couple of body shots that appeared to hurt Cerrone, and sensing that landing a crushing body kick that put Cerrone down for the count.
Ryan Bader earned the “Submission of the Night” bonus for his first round guillotine choke of Vladimir Matyushenko. Bader landed a lunging left hook which dropped Matyushenko, and then he grabbed the guillotine and went for it. Matyushenko fought the choke, but Bader was able to secure half guard and force Matyushenko to tap.
