rampage-and-dana1Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been adamant that his UFC on FOX 6 fight against Glover Teixeira will be his last fight in the UFC.

He feels that he has been disrespected by the organization, and feels that it’s best that his time with the organization come to an end. Check out the video below as he talks with the FUEL TV crew:

However, UFC President Dana White isn’t completely ruling out the possibility of Jackson returning to the UFC after the fight with Teixeira. He spoke on the situation during a media scrum after the UFC 158 press conference that took place on Wednesday. Check it:

You never know where you are with the guy [Rampage Jackson]. If you ask me, do I think we’ve treated Rampage Jackson well…I think we’ve been great to Rampage Jackson..financially, personally, professionally and every other way you can be cool to a guy. He doesn’t feel that way and you know what, it’s one of those deals where…me and Lorenzo [Fertitta] love what we do..we love being involved..we love doing great things…growing the sport…making guys more money…doing all the things we’ve done over the last 13 years. But at the end of the day, any job you have, I don’t care what you do for a living…you have to be happy with what you are doing and the people you are doing it with. If Rampage isn’t happy with us then what are we going to do? The guy needs to go somewhere where people are going to make him happy.

When asked if the UFC still wanted to be in the Rampage business:

Have you heard me…Listen, when Tito [Ortiz] was on his way out..I kinda let you know how I felt about Tito back in the day. You know me, if I don’t like somebody and I’m not whatever…the thing is with Rampage you just never know where you’re at with him.

So it looks like the UFC is still open to re-signing Jackson depending on how his fight on Saturday night goes. Jackson did state that the UFC tried to re-sign him prior to this fight with Teixeira, but he turned the contract down. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Jackson after this fight. If he wins, it certainly puts him in a good position to negotiate with whoever he decides to work with in the future. However, if he were to lose, it would be his third consecutive loss for a 34 year old fighter with lots of mileage on his body.
