In honor of Victor Belfort’s fantastic TKO win over Michael Bisping, this newest installment of “Furby’s World Tour of Supplements”, recaps my experience with a product from one of Belfort’s sponsors, F3 Nutrition. This review focuses on my experience with the last of the F3 supplements I got the opportunity to review, Rebellion, and my overall experiences with F3 products.

In case you missed my previous reviews, be sure to check out my thoughts on F3’s ANNIHILATE and Air Speed Endurance. Thanks to some upgrades here at ProMMANow.com, you can skip to the bottom of the review and see my ratings by the numbers. Read on for my specific thoughts.

From F3Nutrition.com:

REBELLION™ Post-Workout provides the body with a specialized blend of nutrients it needs, in a speedy and practical manner, to optimize the recovery processes following each workout session. Recent research has shown that early intake after exercise (within the first hour) of essential amino acids from good quality protein helps to promote the increase in protein rebuilding. Following your workout, you also want high glycemic index carbs to restore blood glucose levels that may be dropping from a hard exercise session, increase blood insulin levels to begin the process of muscle glycogen resynthesis, and promote an anabolic (growth) state within the muscles.* REBELLION™ provides the optimum formula for protection and enhancement of all athletes.*

Key Benefits of REBELLION™:

Fueling the muscle and liver glycogen (carbohydrate) stores.*
Helps protect cell membranes & DNA from free radical damage.*
Aid Anti-Inflammatory properties.*
Helps reduce oxidative stress on the muscles.*
Supports the manufacture new muscle protein.*
Helps reduce Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS).*

Key Ingredients of REBELLION™:

Anabolic Protein Blend: Precise balances of Whey Protein Concentrate, Calcium Casseinate, Whey Protein Isolate, and Whey Protein Hydrolysate, D-Aspartic Acid and Leucine to help manufacture new muscle proteins.*
Insolinogenic Carb Blend: Waxy Maize, Maltodextrin, D- Glucose, and Fructose for refueling muscle and glycogen stores.*
Muscle Protection DOMS Blend: Creapure® Creatine, HICA, Papain and Bromelain to protect from muscle soreness.*

F3 sent me the Orange Creamsicle flavor of Rebellion. In terms of taste, I am not a huge fan of orange creamsicle in general, but the flavor was extremely accurate; in fact, it was probably the most accurate representation of a flavor I have tasted outside of staple protein flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. If you are a fan of orange creamsicle, this is the supplement for you.

I mixed this in my post workout shake that I have mentioned before; 1 cup of frozen strawberries, 1/4 cup of oats, and 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I mixed everything in a blender, and the Rebellion powder mixed easily; there were no clumps or settling. On a couple different occasions, I used only a scoop of Rebellion and a cup of almond milk and mixed it in a blender ball cup, and the Rebellion still mixed easily.

One of Rebellion’s claims is that helps reduce Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). Is this an accurate claim? Absolutely. For the 30 or so days I took Rebellion I had very little DOMS after my workouts and this was working out six days per week, with increases in weight and the intensity of cardio each week.

The mix of protein and carbs is a solid one, and I did not feel hungry an hour after drinking it like I have with some protein powders.

I’ve included a screenshot of Rebellion’s ingredient label to show the full ingredient list as well as the serving breakdown. Rebellion is available for purchase on F3Nutrition.com for $44.98 plus shipping (FYI, F3 has free domestic ground shipping on all orders right now). With 25 servings in a bottle, this comes in at around $1.80 per serving. From the research I’ve done, this is slightly higher than other post-workout powders, but it does what it says, so I am confident in saying you will get your money’s worth.

Throughout the month I was using F3 Nutrition products, I lost 6 pounds. That may not seem like a lot to some people, but I was pleased with the results, and noticed that I also put on some muscle and solid strength increases as well. My weekly increases in the amount of weights I was using and intensity in my cardio workouts seemed easier than they did before I started taking the F3 products. Not unlike many other people, I hate cardio workouts, but Air Speed Endurance always made them easier, and my average speed during my daily time on the elliptical has doubled. You will not be seeing me in any Olympic sprinting events any time soon, but I was able to increase my personal bests in both time and speed multiple times during my month with F3.

Overall, my time with F3 Nutrition products was great. As I stated in my Air Speed Endurance review, Air Speed is my favorite pre-workout product that I have tried. Both Air Speed and Annihilate gave me the focus and endurance or kick that I needed to get through my 5 a.m. workouts, and Rebellion kept me feeling good after them.

F3 offers a full range of supplements including pre and post workout supplements, protein, BCAAS, greens, multi-vitamins, fish oil, digestive enzymes, the whole nine yards. To check out everything they have to offer, visit F3Nutrition.com, like their Facebook page, and follow them on Twitter, @F3Nutrition.

I stated this in my reviews of both Annihilate and Air Speed Endurance, but it is worth repeating – one of things about F3 that impressed me the most was Mark’s knowledge of supplements and the helpful advice he continuously offered me throughout the process. As a founder and President of a company like F3, one would expect Mark to have the knowledge, but his willingness to share it was pleasantly surprising.

We had numerous discussions about supplements, workouts, and health in general. Mark also interacts with fans of F3 on Twitter, offering advice and info, and promoting the company’s multiple athletes, so in addition to having quality products, they have excellent customer service.

As a bonus, check out this video of F3 athlete Hannibal for King training at the Blackzilians training center with Rashad Evans (Tyrone Spong and F3 sponsored athlete Alistair Overeem also make appearances as well). If you are not familiar with Hannibal’s “playground workouts”, check out this video to see some amazing workouts.
