UFC officials have announced that UFC on FX 6 fighters Joey Beltran and Rousimar Palhares have been suspended for nine months due to failed drug tests.

Palhares tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone and Beltran tested positive for nandrolone which is an anabolic steroid.

UFC officials have indicated that the suspensions are retroactive to December 14 which is the date of the event, and that both fighters will have to pass a drug test upon serving the suspension before being cleared to fight again.

Palhares suffered a first round TKO loss to Hector Lombard at the event while Beltran put on a spirited performance to win a unanimous decision over Igor Pokrajac. It’s not known if the win for Beltran will be overturned at this time.

UFC on FX 6 took place in Australia on December 14 and was headlined by the lightweight fight between Ross Pearson and George Sotiropoulos.
