The bracket for Bellator’s upcoming welterweight tournament is officially set, as eight fighters are slated to compete for a shot at the organization’s $100,000 prize and a guaranteed title fight.

Fan favorite veterans Ben Saunders, Douglas Lima, Brent Weedman, and Marius Zaromskis will be joined by up and commers Michail Tsarev, Jose Gomes, Koffie Adzisto, and Raul Amaya, in what should be an action packed opening to the season eight tournament. Said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney of the field, “From top to bottom, our welterweight division has a collection of pure finishers that have put on some wildly entertaining fights.”

The tournament, which kicks off on Thursday, January 24th at Oklahoma’s WinStar World Casino, will be broadcast live on Spike TV, with the preliminary card set to stream live online at Spike.com.

In addition to featuring the opening round of the welterweight tournament, the upcoming card will also  play host to the highly anticipated Bellator debut of Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal, who will be making his first appearance in the cage since testing positive for steroids last January. Current Bellator Welterweight Champion Ben Askren is also slated to defend his title against French submission specialist Karl Amoussou.
