First off, I want to start by apologizing for slacking on my blog. Between the holidays, and the short notice Bellator fight I took on the 14th I have been a pretty busy woman.

I want to say thanks for following my career and being supportive, I couldn’t ask for better fans! I will start with my fight on Dec. 14th for Bellator MMA, I lost this to decision. I was confirmed on Dec. 4th and weigh-ins were nine days out.

It’s not a big surprise, everyone knows I walk around pretty heavy, especially considering it had been six months to the day of my last fight. So to make a long story short, I cut WAY too much weight (almost 17 lbs.) in nine days, and it took it’s toll on me.

I spent the entire allotted time at the sauna cutting along with continuing to cut up until and after the weigh ins. For the first time in my career I was unable to make weight, and for that I am very sorry. I was 1.8 lbs. over on my second try; I paid a fine, and the fight went on.

About half way through the first round, I was completely exhausted; however, I never quit or give up. I want to thank Bellator MMA for having me, and being understanding about the weight cut due to the short notice circumstances.

By far, Bellator has the greatest staff and show I have ever been apart of, starting out with the awesome guy who picked us up! Bill, thanks for all the trips to the store too; and his wife Vicky is amazing, along with the others that we met at dinner and after weigh-ins.

We went to the House of Pizza. There was another fighter, Joe who was eating with us and a bunch of others, what a fun time! Can’t wait to come back.  If you all want to see more of me in Bellator, let them know via Twitter @BellatorMMA or at www.Bellator.com.

I will always be back stronger and fiercer than ever.  I love this sport with everything in me.

Christmas was mellow and relaxing, so it was great!  We went to Kat’s for dinner, but hung out together the rest of the day.  I made sure to have all the goodies prepared the day before, so there was no rush.

While we were gone for my fight, the X-mas parties for the gym were going on, awww bummer, so we had one of our own. Thanks to everyone who came to the potluck at the gym, it wasn’t fancy or big, but I had fun spending time with the people I enjoy!

Since I have been back, I have been lifting, working out and getting plenty of mat time in.  I want to thank everyone for your kind and uplifting words everyday, and especially in the harder times of my career.

I appreciate all of my fans, friends and family.  I love my gym Alternative Athletics Crossfit / 4th-Avenue-Dojo; especially my team, my hubby/coach ~ thanks for everything you do, I have had fun lifting with you! And Ferg, you are the best teammate ever, thanks for all the hard work you put in with me.
