Quinton “Rampage” Jackson

The UFC on FOX 6 event that’s set for January 26th at the United Center in Chicago has added two huge fights according to sources.

Anthony “Showtime” Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone was announced on the “UFC Tonight” show that airs on FUEL TV. Also, Rampage Jackson (32-10) tweeted that he will indeed face Glover Teixeira (19-2) at the UFC on FOX 6 event.

The Pettis vs. Cerrone matchup has been rumored for some time now, but Pettis has been suffering from a recent staph infection as well as a shoulder injury. Pettis recently spoke with ProMMAnow about the desire to fight Cerrone when he’s fully healed here.

Pettis (15-2) hasn’t fought since knocking out Joe Lauzon at UFC 144. Cerrone (19-4, 1NC) has fought twice this year, defeating Jeremy Stephens and Melvin Guillard respectively.

Jackson had this to say in regards to Teixeira:

Outside the cage I hate no one. Life is too short for that. In side the cage my Job is to destroy! Glover is done on Jan 26 n Chicago..

The two were originally supposed to fight at UFC 153, but Jackson had to withdraw from the bout due to an injury. Teixeira went on to take out Fabio Maldonado via TKO at the end of the second round in what was an absolute war. Jackson has dropped his last two fights, including a unanimous decision loss to Ryan Bader at UFC 144 in February. Jackson has been at odds with UFC management, and this very well could be his final fight in the UFC.
