A new bout has been added to the UFC 155 card as British fighter Brad Pickett (22-6) faces Eddie Wineland (19-8-1) in a bantamweight battle. The event is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 29.

UFC officials announced the new match-up today.

UFC 155 is set to feature a headline bout between current UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos and former champ Cain Velasquez. The main card will air LIVE on PPV with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook.

Brad Pickett is currently riding a two fight winning streak, most recently defeating Yves Jabouin via first round KO at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in September. Prior to that he scored a second round submission victory over Damacio Page at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in April. His most recent loss was against Renan Barão at UFC 138 in November 2011, where he was submitted in the first round. Pickett will no doubt look to extend his winning streak to three with a big performance against Wineland.

Eddie Wineland last fought at UFC on FX 3 in June, where he picked up a second round KO victory over Scott Jorgensen. That win snapped a two fight losing streak, which included losses against Urijah Faber and Joseph Benavidez during 2011. Prior to that Wineland had been on a four fight winning streak, which included back-to-back “Knockout of the Night” honors against Will Campuzano and Ken Stone while fighting for the now defunct WEC promotion. Wineland now has the opportunity to put another notch in the win column against Pickett.

The UFC 155 card is currently as follows:

  • Junior Dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez (HW title bout)
  • Phil Davis vs. Forrest Griffin
  • Tim Boetsch vs. Chris Weidman
  • Joe Lauzon vs. Gray Maynard
  • Alan Belcher vs. Yushin Okami
  • Brad Pickett vs. Eddie Wineland
  • Phil De Fries vs. Matt Mitrione
  • Chris Leben vs. Karlos Vemola
