ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) reporter Isaac Guzman caught up with UFC veteran and 2011 Abu Dhabi champion Dean “The Boogeyman” Lister following his 20-minute no-points submission-only no-gi match against third-degree black belt Xande Ribeiro at Metamoris last weekend.

Lister explained why he prefers the Metamoris format and why he likes to take chances on the mat even though it can get him in trouble from time to time. He also discussed the deep armbar Ribeiro had him in at one point, his strategy in the match and how taking chances in practice translates into competition. Lister also discussed his philosophy as an instructor.
