Anderson Silva further cemented his legacy as the greatest MMA fighter of all time, with a devastating knee that marked the beginning of the end for Stephan Bonnar at 4:40 of the first round.

Stephan Bonnar came out aggressive, putting Anderson Silva on the cage to start, throwing right hands, while also looking to put the champion on the mat.

Silva showed amazing takedown defense against a much bigger fighter, and showed blatant disregard for the power of Bonnar by remaining on the cage and letting his opponent throw punch after punch in the pocket.

After a scramble during the clinch battle, Bonnar retreated to the center of the cage but couldn’t get out of range fast enough to avoid a powerful knee up the middle from Silva that connected and dropped the very tough Bonnar.

From there Silva went for the kill pouring on a barrage of strikes from the top as Bonnar covered up to escape the onslaught. The referee quickly intervened calling a stop to the action at the 4:40 mark.

The win moves Silva (34-4) to an unprecedented 16-0 all time in the UFC, further establishing his dominance as the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter.
