The event will be headlined by the featherweight and heavyweight tournament finals in which both winners will receive $100,000. Also on the card, “Lil Bulldog” Felice Herrig will return and take on Michelle Gutierrez.
Tickets for the event are on sale now and are available at Horseshoe Casino, Ticketmaster, www.thevenue-chicago.com, or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
The event will broadcast starting at 7 p.m. CT on MTV2 and in commercial-free HD on EPIX, as well as in Spanish language on mun2. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. CT, with the preliminary streamed LIVE and FREE on Spike.com.
The fight between Herrig and Gutierrez is a rematch from a 2009 bout in which Herring won via submission. Although Herrig got the win, she still feels as though she can teach her a lesson.
“We used to have the same management and were put in many situations to work together,” said Herrig. “I honestly gave it my best effort to be friends with her but her unethical practices as a fighter and in business directly impacted me. Fighting Michele again really does nothing for my career other than it gives me a chance to shut her mouth once and for all. It’s time for her to put her money where her mouth is.”
