Bellator Fighting Championships have confirmed the fight card for Bellator 76, which will feature a headline bout between Eddie Alvarez (23-3) and Patricky “Pitbull” Freire (10-3). The event is set to take place at Caesars Windsor Hotel and Casino in Ontario, Canada, on Oct. 12.

The main card will also include fights from the Season 7 Featherweight Tournament, which will showcase a host of International and Canadian talent looking to collect big wins inside the Bellator cage. The winner of the tournament will take home $100,000 prize money as well as a guaranteed title shot against reigning Bellator Featherweight Champion Pat Curran.

The event will broadcast LIVE on MTV2 and in commercial-free HD on EPIX starting at 8 p.m. EST, as well as mun2 in Spanish language and The Score in Canada. The preliminary card, featuring some of the area’s top local talent will be streamed LIVE and FREE on Spike.com.

Here is what former lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez, had to say:

“After hearing Bellator wanted to put this fight together, I really don’t think they could have made a better matchup for the fans to enjoy,” Alvarez said. “Pitbull has proven to be a legitimate threat in the past and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

As previously reported former Bellator lightweight champ Alvarez was submitted by reigning Bellator Champion Michael Chandler. Alvarez quickly rebounded, as the Top 10 lightweight collected one of the most fulfilling wins of his career after earning a long awaited win over submission ace Shinya Aoki at Bellator 66. With momentum on his side, Alvarez is primed for an explosive showdown at Bellator 76.

Meanwhile, Brazilian lightweight Pitbull has plenty of experience against top competition, with knockout wins over MMA veterans Rob McCullough, Toby Imada and Kurt Pellegrino. After suffering a small fracture to his left arm at the hands of Lloyd Woodard, Pitbull is ready to re-enter the Bellator cage and attempt to score the biggest victory of his already impressive career.
