After back-to-back losses and over a year outside of the octagon, Matt Hamill returned with a strong showing, earning a unanimous decision victory over Roger Hollett.

Hamill came out quickly landing his jab at will and mixing in leg kicks. While Hamill continued to land with volume, Hollett picked his shots more selectively throwing mostly power shots. Hamill finally took the fight to the floor and unleashed a barrage of left hands to the head. Hollett covered up and took minimal damage considering how many shots landed, but the rally gave Hamill an early lead on the scorecards.

Hollett opened up his striking to start the second as a visibly tired Hamill slowed his pace considerably. A half-hearted shot by Hamill was met by a Hollett knee. A careless spinning kick gave Hamill just what he needed as he took the back of Hollett and suplexed him to the mat.

The third round looked much like the second, with Hollett landing to the body and with right hands, but again, a takedown was the difference. Hamill employed his ground-and-pound once on top, landing multiple unanswered shots. Hollett managed to make his way back to his feet only to find himself dumped right back on the mat late in the round.

In the end it would be Matt Hamill (11-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) earning his tenth victory in the UFC with scores of 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27.
