Cub Swanson came in to UFC 152 on a bit of a roll, winning his last two fights impressively. He extended that streak tonight with a first-round knockout of Charles Oliveira.

Swanson used his jab and kicks to start, but ended up on his back after an Oliveira takedown. Oliveira managed to land some short elbows while on top, but Swanson was able to scramble back to his feet and reset in the center of the octagon.

Swanson went to work with winging right hands, but it was a thunderous left hand to the body that was the beginning of the end for Oliveira. Another shot to the body, set up the knockout shot as Swanson uncorked a winging right hand that connected and stunned Oliveira. Oliveira, who was clearly hurt, stayed on his feet for the moment, but after taking a few steps back, fell to the mat and the fight was over. The official time was 2:40 of the first round.

The win marks the third consecutive inside the octagon for Swanson and moves him to 18-5 (3-1 UFC) overall.
