UFC middleweight Alan Belcher

UFC officials have added another matchup to the UFC 155 card that’s set for December 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alan Belcher will rematch Yushin Okami in a middleweight fight. The two first fought all the way back at UFC 62 in what was the UFC debut of both fighters with Okami taking the unanimous decision.

Okami (27-7) is coming off a TKO win over Buddy Roberts at UFC 150. It was a fight that Okami didn’t look the best as he got tagged repeatedly by Robert’s striking early in the bout before taking him down and dominating. Okami had suffered back-to-back losses to Anderson Silva and a huge upset loss to Tim Boetsch prior to the win over Rogers.

Belcher (18-6) is coming off a TKO win over submission ace Rousimar Palhares at the UFC on FOX 3 event earlier this year. Belcher has won four consecutive fights since losing a controversial split decision to Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 100. Belcher was originally scheduled to face Vitor Belfort at UFC 153, but Belfort was pulled from the bout to face Jon Jones at UFC 152. Belcher ultimately would not have been able to fight anyways after suffering a back injury.

UFC 155 will be headlined by the UFC heavyweight title fight between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez. The UFC 155 card can be found below:

  • Junior dos Santos (c) vs. Cain Velasquez
  • Chael Sonnen vs. Forrest Griffin
  • Chris Weidman vs. Tim Boetsch
  • Alan Belcher vs. Yushin Okami
  • Gray Maynard vs. Joe Lauzon
  • Matt Mitrione vs. Phil De Fries
  • Chris Leben vs. Karlos Vemola
