UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz

UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz will receive the next lightweight title shot. He’ll fight the winner of the UFC 150 main event between Ben Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar bout according to UFC President Dana White during the UFC on FUEL TV weigh-in show.

Nate Diaz (16-7) is coming off a dominating win against Jim Miller which took place on the UFC on FOX 3 event back in May. Diaz has won three consecutive fights, two of them against top ten lightweights Donald Cerrone and the aforementioned Miller. The other win came over former PRIDE standout Takanori Gomi at UFC 135.

Diaz poses an interesting matchup for both Henderson and Edgar in that he’s extremely long and is dangerous both on the ground and standing. He also seems to the clear cut contender amongst the crowded top tier of the lightweight division.
