UFC on Fox 4: Shogun and Machida earn highest salaries from event’s $963,000 payroll

Former UFC light heavyweight champions Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Lyoto Machida were the highest paid fighters on this past weekend’s UFC on FOX 4 card. Rua earned himself $240,000 from the event and Machida banked $200,000 making a combined total of $440,000 which is 46 percent of the event’s total payroll of $963,000.

The salary figures were reported by MMAJunkie.com who requested and received the list of official disclosed paydays from the California State Athletic Commission.

Both Shogun and Machida won their fights at UFC on Fox 4, which took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Aug. 4. Mauricio Rua defeated Brandon Vera via TKO in the main event and Lyoto Machida knocked out Ryan Bader in the co-main event of the evening.
