July was so busy, I do have to say, I’m glad it’s over.  A lot was accomplished and many lessons learned, so a month not lived in vain. I fought July 14th, competed in the Big Sky State Games July 21st, then, Ferg fought in Kalispell, July 27th.  Thank goodness for ice baths!

Please be sure to bid on my gloves from my last fight at my ONLINE AUCTION FOR CHARITY.  All proceeds will go to B.A.R.K. (Billings Animal Rescue Kare).  It all ends Friday, yes this Friday August 3rd! Thanks for all of  your support! You all rock!

So we left for Kalispell on Wednesday about noonish, that was an 8 hour drive…Thursday was weigh ins, so we went to the Kalispell Athletic Club; I want to thank them for their hospitality, and use of the facility.  Ferg made weight 136 lbs. even.  Good job buddy!

Friday July 27th at the Majestic Valley Arena, Ferg fought Duran Flaget for the Fight Force 135 lb. Amateur Title; unfortunately he fell short of a decision.  Hey man, we are very proud of your performance, you fought three 5-min. rounds (that was a first for you) against a very skilled collegiate wrestler; all fights are a learning experience, win, lose, or draw.

You will learn to not make the same mistakes and grow as a fighter.  That’s what this game is all about, evolving, and improving. We have some stuff to work on for the next one, so lets get back to it!  You got that takedown you wanted too…

Our youngsters, Yardley and Wyatt were right back to training the day after the Big Sky State Games. Yardley is working hard now, so next year she can compete against the girl that sandbagged her, and tap her out.  She is determined and focused, great attitude!

On Monday, our good friend Allan let us borrow a motorcycle, so we decided to finally take the trip to Pompeys Pillar.  It was a beautiful day, as usual here in Montana; the monument was exactly what we were expecting.  William Clarks name and the year 1806 was carved into the sandstone rock.  Montana is rich in history, we love to learn.

We left for Kalispell on Wednesday, now that was also a pretty drive.  Flathead Lake was so nice, it’s the biggest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi.  We drove through all the little towns that go around the lake.  Kalispell was very beautiful as well, but I’m sure the winters are fierce!

Ferg made weight, and was back to 150 lbs. the next morning!  We wont talk about how much he weighs now… Or me for that matter. Hahaha! We got back Saturday evening about 7ish… Then on Sunday, we had our privates, then went to Kat and Jake’s for a BBQ.  It was delicious as always, great company, thanks guys!  Oh and thanks for the veggies!

Here’s a cool video of my boy riding his bike on the ramp in the pics below.  Thanks!
