Mariusz Pudzianowski

The KSW promotion announced two fights for their KSW 20 event that’s set for September 15th in Gdańsk/Sopot’s Ergo Arena. Jan Blachowicz will take on UFC veteran Houston Alexander and Mariusz Pudzianowski will take on Christos Piliafas.

Houston Alexander (13-8, 2NC) is coming off a TKO loss to Gilbert Yvel earlier this year. He’s lost back-to-back fights but was riding a four fight win streak prior to those two fights. Alexander was (2-6) inside the UFC with a huge upset win over Keith Jardine in his debut in 2007.

Jan Blachowicz (15-3) is the KSW light heavyweight champion who’s coming off a unanimous decision win over Mario Miranda in February. Blachowicz won the title by avenging a previous loss to UFC veteran Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and has now won three consecutuve fights.

Mariusz Pudzianowski (4-2, 1NC) is coming off a win over Bob Sapp which doesn’t mean anything these days. Prior to that bout he fought James Thompson which was ruled a no contest due to a judging error. Pudzianowski spoke on his opponent:

I saw a few of his fights and I know that he likes to bang. It has all the making for an exciting fight and I plan to leave the ring victorious.

Christos Piliafas (4-1) is a King of the Cage veteran who has won four consecutive fights after losing his professional debut. The most impressive thing about Piliafas is that all of his wins have come via TKO in the first round.
