A new light-heavyweight bout has been added to the UFC 152 card as newly signed fighter Vinny Magalhaes (9-5-1) meets Igor Pokrajac (25-8) in Toronto, Canada, on September 22.

News of the bout was first announced by Sportsnet’s Joe Farraro via Twitter, and later re-tweeted by the UFC.

UFC 152 will feature a headline bout between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson who will take each other on for the flyweight title. The main card for the event will air LIVE on PPV with the prelims expected to air on Facebook and FX/FUEL TV.

Jiu-Jitsu specialist Magalhaes is currently riding a five fight winning streak, most recently defeating Mikhail Zayats via third round TKO at M-1 Challenge XXVII last October. Prior to that he scored a third round submission win over Viktor Nemkov in April, and a first round TKO win over Jake Doerr March 2011.

Back in 2008 Vinny lost the TUF season 8 finale to Ryan Bader and then followed up by losing to Eliot Marshall via unanimous decision at UFC 97. This led to his release from the promotion and a trip back to the regional circuit. After a few years of grinding out some impressive performances Magalhaes now gets a second shot in the UFC.

Igor last fought at UFC on FUEL TV 3 in May, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Fabio Maldonado. Prior to that he defeated Krzysztof Soszynski with a first round knockout at UFC 140 last December, and picked up a first round TKO over Todd Brown in March 2011.

Those victories put Pokrajak on an impressive three fight winning streak in the UFC. His most recent loss was back in December 2010, where he dropped a unanimous decision to veteran and fan favorite Stephan Bonnar.
