In a battle of heavy-handed strikers, it was Lorenz Larkin that did the majority of the damage as he outstruck Robbie Lawler en route to a lopsided unanimous decision victory in his middleweight debut.

Lawler landed the first significant shot of the fight, landing a short right hook that staggered Larkin. Lawler looked to capitalize, but Larkin was able to shake off the effects of the punch and get back to dictating the pace of the fight. A trip takedown by Larkin got him going as he was able to fire off some grinding elbows before the fight returned to the feet. Once there, Larkin did damage in the clinch, landing short elbows, right hands, and uppercuts to finish off a dominating opening round.

Larkin came out in the second confidently landing his kicks and continuing to dictate the pace. Larkin used laser-straight right hands on the outside and knees in the clinch to take command of the fight. Lawler was relegated to going for takedowns after being outstruck and nearly got caught in a Larkin guillotine late in the round.

The third round saw Lawler start aggressively, but again he was unable to string together any significant combinations as Larkin tied him up in close quarters. Larkin again went to his lead right hand while mixing in kicks to put an exclamation point on his middleweight debut.

In the end, Larkin was awarded the unanimous decision victory (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) to remain undefeated at 13-0-1 (4-0-1 SF).
