HOUSTON — UFC and WEC veteran Will Campuzano (10-4) was scheduled to take on Bellator and Strikeforce veteran Chad Robichaux (14-2) for the vacant Legacy flyweight title in the Legacy Fighting Championship 12 headliner this evening at Arena Theater in Houston, Texas. However, Robichaux fell ill yesterday and the fight has been scrapped.

Legacy Fighting Championship 12 will broadcast LIVE on ASX TV Friday night at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT). UFC heavyweight and K-1 2010 Grand Prix champion Alistair Overeem will serve as a special commentator alongside “The Voice” Michael Schiavello who will be calling the fights.

Moving into the headliner spot will be veteran Jay Hieron (22-5) making his Legacy Fighting Championship debut against Jungle Fight veteran Romario Manoel Da Silva (19-9) in a welterweight match-up. Also on the card, BJJ world champion Robert Drysdale (3-0) looks to improve his unbeaten pro MMA streak to four as he takes on Texas standout Isaac “Ike” Villanueva (7-6) in a light heavyweight match-up.

Round 1 – Nascimento is undefeated at 5-0. Acker is also undefeated. Bantamweight action. Inside leg kick from Nascimento. Left from Acker. Leg kick Nascimento. Jab, then leg kick. Acker catches a kick, tries to get the takedown, but Nascimento drops him with a punch. Acker seems okay, gets right up, clinched, backs up. Right hand from Acker. Leg kick Nascimento. Clinch, takedown from Acker, lands in side control. Knee to the ribs from Acker. Nascimento holding on to the neck of Acker. Acker now in half guard on top. Nascimento makes it to the feet, high kick. One two from Acker. Jab. Leg kick from Nascimento goes high to the groin and time is called. Leg kick from Nascimento, eats a counter right. Round 1 – Heavyweights. Touch gloves. Right hand just misses from Mitchell, swings big, Linderman shoots, gets underhooks against the cage. Knee from Linderman, knee from Mitchell to the body. Another, and another, another. LInderman puts Mitchell on his back and mounts him. Mitchell gets half guard. Linderman with some body shots. Mitchell trying to get up but gets pulled back down.Mitchell gets to his feet, Linderman has a body lock from behind. Knees to the back of the thighs of Mitchell. Linderman tries to pull him down, no dice. Mitchell turns around to face Linderman and gets put on his butt. Knee to the body from Linderman. Now tries to get on his back puts one hook in, then steps back out. They stand up but Linderman still has a body lock from behind. Knee to the back of the thigh, again. Ref warns them to do something. More knees to the back of the thigh. Mitchell turns around. Linderman scoops him to his butt. Punches to the body from Linderman and now to the face. Mitchell tries to get up before the bell. PMN scores the round 10-9 for Linderman.

Round 2 – Linderman shoots, appears to get caught with a shot (head butt) and he goes down. Mitchell has a front head lock. Linderman stands up and pushes Mitchell to the cage. Knee from Linderman. Mitchell backs out and Linderman shoots and puts him down. Linderman takes Mitchell’s back with one hook in. Mitchell turtles up, now both hooks in for Linderman, flattens him out. Lands several punches on the chin but somehow Mitchell gets to his feet. Knees from Linderman to the back of the thighs. Linderman drops levels for yet another single leg and gets him down easy. Mitchell gets to his knees but Linderman takes his back, both hooks in, flattens him out and Linderman punches in bunches until the referee stops it.

Round 1 – Young with the takedown early, on top in half mount. Ligon makes his way to his feet and they square up. Left from Ligon backs Young up. Clinched against the cage, exchange knees. Knee from Ligon before they break and square up. Leg kick from Ligon, Young with the counter punch. Leg kick from Ligon. Clinched, they struggle for position. They break and square back up. Round 1 – Drysdale a -1500 favorite. Ike +750. Drysdale flashing a feeling jab. Front kick feeler, overhand right, shot to a single, gets Ike down, mounts, takes his back, drags him down, body triangle, going for the neck. Switches to an armbar and Ike is in trouble  and looking like a male Ronda Rousey taps out Ike with an armbar.

Romario Da Silva vs. Jay Hieron

Round 1 – Hieron throwing a jab, head and body. Leg kick. Leg kick from Da Silva. Spinning back kick misses from Hieron. Big leg kick from Da Silva. Nice right from Hieron. Counter left from Da Silva. Big leg kick from Da Silva, Hieron fires back with his own. Liver kick from Da Silva. Hieron with the counter. Inside leg kick now. Left hook from Hieron. Knees from Hieron. Pummeling shots from Da Silva. Hieron with the takedown, inside closed guard. Now in half guard. Hieron locks on a D’arce. Looks tight. Hieron tells the ref he’s out, the ref checks Da Silva’s hand, then stops the fight, and Da Silva was NOT out. Terribly bad call apparently. Vey anticlimactic. Da Silva only had one and a half week’s notice. He did great for such short notice. Definitely we need a rematch to settle this and this ref…. my goodness…. Jay said after the fight he thought Da Silva was out and did tell the ref he was out. However, that’s not Jay’s job – that’s the ref’s job. Awful awful call. Da Silva asked for the rematch and was very classy in the controversial loss.

* – Ref stopped the fight because he thought Da Silva was out. He was not out and was in fact fine. Hopefully there will be a rematch.
