Tuesday evening on Fuel TV former UFC no. 1 middleweight contender Chael Sonnen talked about his UFC 148 title fight loss to Anderson Silva over the weekend. To start with, Sonnen addressed the question that went through many people’s minds immediately after the fight: “What the hell were you thinking throwing that spinning backfist?”
Sonnen also shared his thoughts on the knee that Anderson hit him with that set up the finishing sequence to the bout and he explained whether or not he thought the knee was legal or illegal and what difference, if any, it made in the fight.
Sonnen addressed rumors his camp would appeal the result of the fight, and also commented on a statement made by one of his coaches that he thought Sonnen would retire. Sonnen also commented on rumors he might be headed to pro wrestling with the WWE.
