When Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show released their song “The Cover of the Rolling Stone” back in 1973 they probably had not the faintest idea that nearly 40 years later the world’s greatest mixed martial artist would be gracing the cover of the rock n’ roll magazine.

UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva continues to widen his media profile around the world and his latest accomplishment is making the cover of the Rolling Stone Brazil edition.

Silva is widely regarded as the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter and the most dangerous man in MMA today. Throughout his career he has managed to beat nearly every notable fighter in the middleweight division winning the Shooto, Cage Rage and UFC titles in the process.

The Brazilian currently holds the record for the longest title reign in UFC  history and has won multiple awards including the World MMA Awards “Fight of the Year” for his 2010 win over Chael Sonnen and “Knockout of the Year” for his 2011 win over Vitor Belfort where he won with an unforgettable front kick KO that rocked the MMA world.

Anderson is also one of the only fighters to pick up major sponsorship, he currently has deals with both Burger King and sports equipment giant Nike.

As both a champion and ambassador of the sport Anderson Silva continues to impress and shock fans with his seemingly unlimited array of mixed martial arts skills. The Brazilian will take on Chael Sonnen for a second time in a highly anticipated rematch for the title at UFC 148 on July 7 in Las Vegas and ProMMAnow.com will be cage side for all the action.
