Speculation was in the air regarding Ross Pearson’s (13 – 5) status on the UFC on FX 4 card after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence earlier this week in Las Vegas. Pearson is slated to take on Cub Swanson (16 – 5) on June 22nd, in Atlantic City, NJ. UFC President Dana White quelled any rumors of Pearson being removed from the card by speaking on the matter to the media at the UFC on FOX 3 press conference.

Dana White although disappointed with Pearson’s choice to get behind the wheel if he had been drinking, and said he does understand that mistakes are made and that Pearson will have the UFC’s support:

“He’s got 50 guys out there that he’s training with that he could have called. He’s got money; he could have taken a taxi. It’s just one of those bad choices you make at that moment. You can’t expect all these people to be perfect. I understand they are role models. They’re human beings. They’re going to make mistakes. I’m one of those guys that believe we’re all going to make mistakes – it’s how you handle it after you make that mistake that tells you who you really are.”

Pearson was stopped early Sunday morning by Las Vegas Police when it was noticed that the car he was driving and swerving between lanes. After police deemed that Pearson failed a field sobriety test, he was taken into custody.
