WINDSOR, ONTARIO -– Bellator 64 takes place this evening at Caesar’s Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and features a Bellator welterweight title fight between undefeated champion Ben Askren and Bellator season five welterweight tournament winner Douglas Lima.

Also, a Bellator season six featherweight tournament semifinal fight will take place as Marlon Sandro meets “Popo” Bezerra. Additionally, the Bellator season six bantamweight tournament kicks off with Travis Marx taking on Masakatsu Ueda and Rodrigo Lima going up against Hiroshi Nakamura.

Bellator 64 will be broadcast LIVE this evening starting at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on MTV2 and in commercial-free HD on EPIX. The preliminary card will begin at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT and streamed LIVE and FREE on Spike.com.

Round 2 – (Missed round one but Taleb won the first round easily 10-9). Leg kick from Taleb, again. Secor trying to measure, they clinch up. Taleb with some knees to the thighs against the cage. More knees from the clinch. More knees with undercooks, to the body now and an elbow on the break. Secor shoots, stuffed. Big right from Taleb to the downed Secor as he hovers over. Chris Horodecki vs. Mike Richman

Round 1 – Horodecki with a one two, head kick, big right from Richman. One two from Chris. Richman backs him to the cage with two big shots to the chin. Chris fires back with a head kick. They exchange some nice shots. Chris with a leg kick. Richman lands a right uppercut then a left right left right and Horodecki goes down and is out cold. This was Richman’s Bellator debut.

Josh Taveirne vs. Chad Laprise

Round 1 – Touch gloves. Taveirne shoots right away, stuffed. Body kick from Taveirne. Overhand right from Laprise misses. Taveirne shoots, gets the takedown and Laprise is on his back with full guard. Taveirne with body shots as Laprise scoots back to the cage and makes his way up. Taveirne still holding a body lock. Knees from Laprise to the thighs. Taveirne knees back. Nice body to body suplex from Taveirne. Laprise locks on a triangle. It’s super tight, looks for an arm bar, switches back to the triangle and Josh Taveirne taps out.

Bantamweight Tournament Quarterfinal Fight

Rodrigo Lima vs. Hiroshi Nakamura

Round 1 – Lima is 20, undefeated at 10-0. Nakamura is 31, record of 14-5-4. Touch gloves. Leg kick from Lima, Nakamura counters with punches, then the takedown. Inside full guard, Lima looking for an arm. Lima with wrist control. Nakamura safe from the submission at the moment but can’t get any offense off due to wrist control. Closed guard by Lima, they trade punches. Hammerfists from Nakamura. Nakamura stands over Lima, kicks the thigh, punch ro chin, another big right from Nakamura as he lays back in guard. Lima with an upkick, thigh kick from Nakamura, right hand. Lima grabs a leg, makes his way up, clinched. Lima with a low blow and time is called. Front kick, right hand from Lima, they trade shots and clinch up. Nakamura drops levels. Lima ends up on bottom, holding an arm and punching Nakamura. PMN scores round 1 for Lima 10-9.

Round 2 – They clinch up and Lima lands a low blow again from a knee and time is called again. He was warned last time so Yves Lavigne deducts one point from Lima. Right counter from Nakamura, shoots, stuffed, body lock, knee from Nakamura, gets the trip takedown landing in half guard on top. Lima throws up his legs looking for an arm, turns it to an omoplata. Nakamura steps over, lands several hammerfists to Lima’s head as Lima punches up. Nakamura is free of immediate danger but Lima locks up another omoplata, and at the same time goes for an inverted toe hold, lets it go. Nakamura goes for a leg lock as they scramble. PMN scores the round 10-9 for Nakamura (due to point deduction).

Round 3 – They trade shots and Nakamura locks him up and gets Lima to the ground. Lima already has an arm locked up and is fishing for a kimura. Nakamura is bleeding badly over his left eye. Lima switches to an omoplata but Nakamura pulls out, throws some punches and Lima fights back from the bottom. Lima with nice left hands. Lima goes for a leg as does Nakamura and they play the foot lock game until the ref stands them up. Nakamura gets a body lock from behind. Lima rolls for a kneebar. Nakamura goes for a footlock and it’s over. PMN scores the round 10-9 for Nakamura and the fight 29-28 for Nakamura — but it’s very close and could go either way.

Travis Marx vs. Masakatsu Ueda

Round 1 – Left hand head kick misses from Marx. Body kick scores from Marx. Marx with a body lock and slam. Ueda locks up an arm. Marx gives him a knee. Ueda twits the arm but Marx escapes. Ueda on bottom with half guard now. Marx with a couple punches ans Ueda gets to his knees. marx with some more punches, one underneath the arm on the chin. Ueda turns around, goes for a leg, eats a few big right hands. Ueda holding the leg with face buried but Marx gets up and Ueda follows. Head kick from Ueda scores. Ueda blocks a high kick, lands a body kick and another one. Marx catches the next one. Lands a left hand. PMN scores the round 10-9 Marx.

Round 2 – Body kick from Marx. Leg kick. Ueda catches a kick and puts Marx down, follows him to the ground inside guard. Marx gets to his feet as Ueda locks up an arm, he tries to explode with it but lands up on the bottom taking body punches. Ueda still looking for the arm, goes for a kimura abut Marx escapes, moves to mount. Ueda gives up his back and Marx tries to isolate Ueda’s left arm. They scramble back to the feet.Body kick from Ueda. Both throw push kicks. Ueda with another body kick. PMN scores the round 10-9 for Ueda.

Round 3 – Left hand Marx, body kick from Ueda. Leg kick from Ueda. Again. Leg kick from Marx. Body kick from Ueda, again. Nice left from Marx followed by a body kick. Another body kick from Ueda, right to the face from Marx. Leg kick from Marx. Body kick Ueda. Leg kick Ueda. Right from Marx, Ueda shoots and gets the takedown. Ueda stands over Marx, dives in with a shot as Marx gets to his knees. Ueda gets to his feet, Marx has a body lock from behind, lands a head kick. Body kick from Ueda. Ueda with another body kick. Big right from Marx as Ueda shoots in, grabs a single and is on top momentarily before Marx gets up. Head kick from Ueda. They swing it out until the bell sounds. Close fight. Big inside leg kick from Sandro goes high and makes a loud sound on the cup. They swing and miss. Leg kick from Sandro. Nice body shot from Sandro, sweeps a leg. Popo pops up, they clinch up momentarily then back to boxing. Leg sweep from Sandro and Popo touches a knee to the ground. Leg kick Sandro. Spinning back kick misses by Sandro. Left hook Sandro, left counter Popo. Spinning backfist scores fro Popo. Leg kick from Sandro. He checks Popo’s leg kick. PMN scores the round 10-9 Sandro.

Welterweight Tournament Championship Fight

Ben Askren vs. Douglas Lima

Round 1 – Askren shoots, Lima pushes him away. Leg kick from Lima. Uppercut from Lima as Askren shoots. Leg push from Lima. Askren clinches. Lima with a body shot, knee to the body. Lima with a knee to the body. Knee to the thigh from Askren. Lima backs away. Body kick from Askren. Askren with a body lock takedown. Askren on top in half guard. Askren postures up with hammerfists, right hand, lays back in guard. Lima trips takes Askren’s back, goes for a kimura. Askren scrambles to the top. Lands some elbows and punches. Askren postures up. Lima throws up an armbar. Askren pulls out. Lima with a punch off his back. Again. Two rights from Askren, misses the second one and Lima uses it to lock up a triangle. Askren pulls out, postures up and lands some nice rights, again. Great technical grappling match and ground and pound here. Askren staying busy with punches and elbows. PMN scores it 10-9 Askren.

Round 2 – Askren stalking. Left from Askren, shoots, stuffed. Front kick from Lima. Askren gets a leg, body lock, takedown. Lima briefly gets top then sweepes. Askren going for a kimura from half guard on top. Lima grabs a toe hold but Askren escapes. Askren with elbows, postures up with a right and elbow. Lima locks up an arm in omoplata, Askren pulls out. Askren with more punches and elbows. Lima punches off his back, rolls into full guard. Pushes Askren back. Askren right back on him with 2 minutes to go. Askren staying very busy, nothing too devastating but just staying very busy with elbows, hammerfists and punches. Big right hand. Postures up, stacks Lima with a big right. Lima gets closed guard. Askren postures up again with a couple rights. Lima kicks the knee. Askren lays on top as the crowd boos loudly. PMN scores the round 10-9 Askren.

Round 3 – Nice right from Askren. Lima moves away from the shot. Leg kick from Lima and Askren grabs a leg as he falls and ends up on top in half guard. His opponents know what is coming and just can’t stop it. Askren with punches. Lima locks on a triangle and Askren moves out the back. Askren back in full guard, postures up with big right hands, traps Lima’s left arm and lands a couple nice shots. Lima grabs both of Askren’s ankles just long enough to eat a big right. Askren in half guard and the boos start. Askren locks up a D’arce, lets it go and lands more right hands. Elbow from Lima off his back. Ref stands them up. I don’t agree with that. Askren moves in, clinches, body lock. Lima gets underhooks against the cage, exchange of knees. Under 20 seconds left. Askren breaks free and lets time run down as Lima stands across from him, neither man willing to risk it in the finals seconds. PMN scores it 10-9 Askren.

Round 4 – Leg kick and uppercut from Lima. Jab from Lima. Leg kick from Lima that buckles the leg but Askren gets hold of the leg. Lima with a knee to the head with his other knee and a knee to the body. Lima gets free of the clinch. Lima lands a nice knee as Askren shoots. Askren gets the takedown and seems okay. Askren stands over Lima and punches straight into the mat next to his head. Askren in half guard goes back to doing his thing. Right left and several short hammerfists. Lima goes for the sweep but no dice. Askren stacks with several rights. Ref calls for action. Right forearm smash from Askren. Ref says advance position and Askren said something back. Lima goes for an armbar, no problem as he lays down in full guard. Hopefully Askren told the ref to leave him the hell alone as he is staying busy. Too bad, ref stands them up with 10 seconds to go. Head kick from Lima blocked, bell sounds. PMN scores it 10-9 Askren.

Round 5 – Left jab from Lima, misses an uppercut. Big leg kick. Left from Askren, shoots, sprawl from Lima. Body lock from Askren, gets the trip and is back in full guard. Amazing how he can keep doing this over and over when his opponents know its coming. Askren stacks him with punches from inside full guard. Chants of “Lima” from the crowd last about five seconds. Askren lands a three nice shots and continues the ground and pound dominance. Askren tries to pass guard using a hand stand. In half guard now using hammerfists, he stacks again with punches. A little blood between Lima’s eyes. I can’t wait to see the stats on this fight. No telling how many punches have been thrown by Askren. Could very well be a record. Askren finishes it out on top with more of the same. PMN scores it 10-9 and 50-45 for Askren.
