Former WEC welterweight champion and current UFC welterweight interim champion Carlos Condit (28-5) was a guest on Thursday’s episode of the 1st Quarter radio show on 102.5 FM The Game (Nashville Sports Radio).

Hosts Darren McFarland, Brad Hopkins and Chris Pappas talked with “The Natural Born Killer” about losing his UFC debut against Martin Kampmann, learning from the loss and turning things around to put together five straight wins and eventually become the 170-pound interim champion.

Condit discussed his epic five round war with Nick Diaz at UFC 143 in February and what it was like having to deal with Nick talking to him during the fight. He also discussed his planned bout with UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, who is still undergoing rehabilitation from a knee surgery, and when fans might expect to see these two step in the Octagon to unify their titles.

Condit also weighed in on a potential rematch with Diaz, if he was able to appeal his suspension and return to action before St-Pierre:

“Yes I would definitely be open to that fight. I think it would be a fight the fans would be excited for and there would be a lot of buzz around it. Whether you are a Diaz fan, a fan of mine, or just an MMA fan in general, I think a lot of people would want to see the rematch and it’s something I would definitely welcome.”

Condit also commented on a potential bout with UFC veteran Josh Koscheck, he named a few of the fighters he most likes to watch perform and he also weighed in with his thoughts on the upcoming UFC light heavyweight title fight between Rashad Evans and his Jackson’s MMA teammate Jon Jones.

“The Natural Born Killer” shared his thoughts on whether or not he would be interested in being a coach on a future season of The Ultimate Fighter, and he also offered some words of wisdom and advice to up and coming fighters who are looking to make something of themselves in the sport.
