Ring announcer Mike Markham to voice World Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Abu Dhabi, UAE – March 26, 2012 – World Class Ring Announcer and public address announcer Mike Markham has been selected to serve as the English language voice of the 2012 World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates April 12-14.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to work such a prestigious event in a spectacular setting like Abu Dhabi,” said Markham.

Markham is no stranger to international events and worked M-1 Global’s Fedor vs. Monson MMA show at Moscow’s Olympic Arena before 22,000 fans a television audience of millions in November of 2011.

In addition to having announced live events for over 30 professional and amateur sports entities, including 16 MMA and boxing organizations, Markham also voiced the 2010 Women’s World Military Volleyball Championships in conjunction with the Conseil International du Sport Militaire and the United States Marine Corps.

The 2012 World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, sometimes referred to as the Jiu-Jitsu World Cup or the Abu Dhabi Pro, will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and will be televised by Abu Dhabi Sports.
