So Friday we told the world that we were coming to Huntington, W.V. to do our first and hopefully best event in the Mountaineer state. It has been non-stop work since that time.

From approving everything we write about our special guest to working with the athletic commission on approving fighters so we can get contracts out the guys, it is really overwhelming at times.

I wonder what the support staff for Dana White is like? I know that it would be hard to do what we do without some of our team. It is a grind just to juggle one show, but let’s face it, we have so much more in the works.

Without giving away too much let’s say that at this moment Spartan is working hard on events in multiple states; four states to be exact. It’s difficult to handle and I question my sanity. I run a heating and air business during the day which consumes quite a bit of time.

I come home and take care of priority number one which is my family. I have two sons that get a lot of my attention. After that it’s full blast Spartan. I go to bed sometimes at 2 a.m. and right back up at 5 a.m. to get the boys to school and get my day lined up. It would be easy to give up. It would be the easy thing to give up Spartan, well for the normal person maybe.

I just feel that we are doing so much good for the fighters and the MMA community that I have to keep going. I have to test myself and see how far this goes. My goal is simple, be a powerhouse regional promotion that rivals Bellator, NAAFS, XFC and those type of high level MMA shows. I think we are getting there one show at a time.

SFC 13 is going to be such a good show for the fans. That’s what I’m supposed to say right? That’s how I feel though. As a fan I wish I could slow things down so I can enjoy the fights as they are happening; just to step back and take in the show. With fighters like Jason Butcher, Cornelius Godfrey, Chris Mierzwack and Brandon Demastes lacing the card, “ The Arrival” should be the best MMA the fans of Huntington have ever seen.

For this weekend though we are gonna take some time off on the card (not too much time) and watch Strikeforce in Columbus with Team Spartan. I think this will be a good time for our fight family to relax and enjoy MMA without the pressure. I won’t lie though, come 7 a.m.Sunday morning, it’s back to work on Spartan. That’s how we do it.
