Philip De Fries landed the first big shots of the fight, but it was Stipe Miocic that would land the final ones, as he put De Fries away in just 43 seconds at UFC on Fuel TV 1.
De Fries came out aggressive to start, landing a big right hand over the top, but got careless as he pursued Miocic across the cage. Miocic stood his ground and responded by countering with a straight right hand that stopped De Fries in his tracks.
Miocic pounced as De Fries retreated across the octagon, landing another right hand behind the ear, dropping De Fries to the canvas. Miocic then landed a quick flurry of punches that left De Fries unconscious on the mat.
The KO win keeps Miocic’s record perfect at 8-0 and moves his UFC record to 2-0. De Fries suffers his first loss, dropping to 8-1 overall (1-1 UFC).
