Las Vegas, NV, February 3, 2012: The co-main event of SCC 4 will feature a five round SCC Lightweight Title Fight between John Gunderson (32-12-2) and Justin Buchholz (12-6). John “Quick Guns” Gunderson fights for the second time under the SCC banner, after earning a second-round submission win of James Birdsley at SCC 2. The former UFC lightweight has been preparing for this fight at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, and he knows he’s up for a challenge. “Justin comes from a great camp and is a good fighter and athlete, so I’m doing everything in my power to be ready for war!”

Team Alpha Male fighter, and five-time UFC-vet, Justin Buchholz is on a three-fight win streak, and has fought twice for the SCC. At SCC 2 he won by unanimous decision against tough Brazilian prospect Thiago Meller, and at SCC 1 he earned the “Knockout of the Night” bonus with his front kick knockout of UFC-vet Steve Lopez. “Justin Buchholz is an explosive and dynamic fighter. His style of fighting is always exciting and very pleasing for the fans. He’s got an arsenal of devastating unorthodox kicks that he unloads on his opponents.” newly appointed SCC matchmaker Joey Varner said. “But this will definitely be Justin’s biggest challenge in the SCC so far. John Gunderson is one tough SOB. He’s a seasoned veteran that has got knockout power in both hands and a solid ground game. He’s dangerous wherever the fight goes.” Buchholz agrees that Gunderson will be a tough challenge, but says he has never been as prepared for a fight as for this one.

“I’ve gone completely insane since my last fight at SCC. I’ve done the hard work, and he’s not ready to die for this like I am. I have almost killed myself in training and I can’t wait to get my hands on him. I can beat him at anything; striking, grappling, board games, kayaking, spelling, trivia, you name it.” The fact that this is a five round fight doesn’t scare him either. “I’m very excited to fight five rounds for the SCC title. I’ve sparred double in preparation. My cardio is on a world-class level. After winning my first decision in 16 fights against Meller at SCC 2 it made me really focus on cardio, now I can’t wait for 5 x 5” said Buchholz.

SCC 4 will be held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on February 16, 2012. Tickets are priced at $35.00 (GA), $50.00, $75.00 and $125.00, and are available at the Orleans Box Office (888-234-2334), on www.orleansarena.com and on www.superiorcagecombat.com.
