NASHVILLE, Tenn. – ProMMAnow.com is on scene and reporting live from this evening’s UFC on FX 1 event. The event takes place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., and features a headliner bout between top-ranked lightweights Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller. The co-main event will match-up hard-hitting veterans Duane “Bang” Lugwig and Josh Neer. In addition, Pat Barry will look to get back on track against Christian Morecraft.
The action kicks off at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT) LIVE on Fuel TV with the preliminary card, then moves to FX at 9 p.m. ET (8 p.m. CT) for the main card.

Jose Sandival vs. Nick Denis
Round 1 – Nick attacks first with a nice one-two. Another flurry from Nick. Jose closes, clinches and gets caught with an elbow. Nick fires off three more big elbows and puts Jose away. He’s out before he hits the canvas.

Daniel Pineda vs. Pat Schilling
Round 1 – Pat circles. Daniel with the jab to start. Both guys land big kicks. Lots of head movement from Pat. Big right hand just misses from Daniel. Pat lands a right. Pat with the uppercut, big counter left hand from Pineda. Daniel closes, then gets the slam. Full mount now for Pineda. Big right hands from the top. Pat rolls and Daniel takes his back and is landing a flurry of right hands. Pat stands but gives up his neck. Daniel locks up the RNC and is looking to finish. Pat falls to his back then taps.

Fabricio Camoes vs. Thomas Hayden
Round 1 – Thomas flashing his jab early. Fabricio circling patiently. Leg kick Thomas. Fabricio walks into a left hand. Big kick from Fabricio. Thomas ducks in for a takedown but can’t get it. Fabricio shoots but gets stuffed and Thomas goes for his back. Fabricio is working on an arm, then scrambles to his feet. Head kick just misses from Fabricio. Thomas eats a knee but gets the takedown for his efforts. Back to the feet now. Fabricio misses high, and then ducks under a head kick of Thomas. The fight hits the ground, and Thomas reverses and is now in the half guard of Fabricio. Fabricio swings his hips and secures an arm. Thomas powers out but ends up on the bottom. Fabricio dives in and lands a bomb of a right hand. Another. Thomas scrambles but gives up his back. Fabricio has both hooks in now and is softening him up with punches. He locks up the rear naked choke and it is TIGHT. It looks like Thomas is tapping but the referee doesn’t see it. Finally the tap comes. Very impressive finish by Fabricio Camoes.

Charlie Brenneman vs. Daniel Roberts
Round 1 – Daniel with the jab to start. Big exchange and Daniel comes forward. Charlie ducks in and gets an easy takedown. Daniel has his neck but Charlie is in side mount and not in any real danger. He’s free. Charlie with shoulder shrugs from the half guard of Daniel. To the body now. He moves to sidemount and looks for the crucifix. He has it and is now raining down right hands. Daniel is trying to free his arm but is getting pounded from the top. Daniel scrambles but Charlie maintains top control. He scores with a short right hand before locking up the head of Daniel with his right arm. Daniel is trying to swing his hips but the top control of Brenneman is smothering him. Boos are erupting but Brenneman is staying busy. Short left hands score for Charlie. Now right hands. Charlie postures to throw a left hand, then gets back tight to the body of Daniel. Charlie fires off a flurry of left hands to the body. Daniel uses the cage and stands, but gets taken right back down before the bell. Round 1 goes to Charlie Brenneman, 10-9.
Round 2 – Daniel with the jab to start. He feints another then kicks high but it’s blocked. Brenneman with the takedown. Charlie is working to pass the guard of Daniel, but is stuck in half guard. He keeps working and passes to side control. More shoulders from the top. Daniel retains half guard for a second, but Charlie passes right back into sidemount. So far, Roberts has had no answer for the top control of Brenneman. Charlie locks up the crucifix again and pours it on with right hands. More right hands now. Daniel has seen enough of that and gets his hips loose, retaining full guard. Daniel is going with some rubber guard now to control the right arm of Charlie. Herb Dean has seen enough and stands them up. More feints from Daniel. Charlie walks through the punches and puts Daniel back down against the cage. Charlie has a leg but is eating elbows from Daniel. Daniel dives with an arm and rolls, with Charlie trying to defend. Daniel is trying to take the back of Charlie but is really high, but then locks up a triangle from the top. Wow! Time runs out on him however. Charlie Brenneman takes round 2, 10-9.
Round 3 – Daniel feints. Charlie throws a one-two to close the distance and puts Daniel right back on the canvas. Just like the previous rounds, Charlie easily moves to side control. He scores with a couple of knees to the body before switching to right hands. Charlie flurries with right hands from the top. More right hands from Brenneman. Total domination in this one. Daniel works back to retain full guard. He stalls out the action and gets a stand up from referee Herb Dean. He doesn’t stay on his feet long. Charlie puts him on the mat again. Daniel has the left arm of Charlie isolated, but he works free and lands from the top. Less than a minute to go now. Kamal Shalorus vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Round 1 – Khabib swings first but Kamal steps back and out of range. Kamal stalking now. Big left hand from Kamal. He drops in for the takedown and they hit the mat but both guys bounce right back up. Khabib pushes Kamal into the cage. Kamal fires off a big knee before they break. Kamal stalking and just misses with a looping right hand. Kamal goes high with the kick but it’s blocked. Jab Khabib. Kamal coming forward again as Khabib circles away from the cage. Big left hook lands for Kamal. Jumping hammerfist from Khabib, yes… a jumping hammerfist. Winging punches now from Kamal but neither connect cleanly. Inside leg kick now for Shalorus. He’s getting the best of the action on the feet. Kamal shoots for a take down and eats a huge left hand that drops him. Kamal is trying to survive as Khabib pours on some ground and pound. Wow, nice recovery from Kamal. Khabib still working from the top. He moves to side mount but isn’t landing much from the top. Kamal jumps back up and eats another left hand. Both guys swinging for the fences now. Kamal takes a look at the clock and takes a deep breath. Nice knee from Khabib. Big flurry by both to end the round. Round 1 goes to Khabib Nurmagomedov, 10-9.
Round 2 – Khabib comes forward but misses. Leg kick by Kamal. Kamal ducks in and throws a wild right hand. Khabib ducks and shoots for a takedown. He has Kamal down against the cage. Khabib swings his hips and passes to side control. Kamal works back and gets his guard back. Nice right hands from Khabib from the top. Not enough action for the referee as he stands them up and restarts them. Lead left uppercut from Khabib. He then changes levels and gets another takedown. He advances to side control, but Kamal retains his guard. Good top control from Khabib but he isn’t doing much with the dominant position so far. Left hand to the body from Khabib. Here comes the stand up. Kamal stalking again. Khabib just misses with that lead left that has worked for him so far in the bout. Another lead left uppercut, and Khabib scores with the left hook right before the bell. Another round for Nurmagomedov, 10-9.
Round 3 – Big exchange to start the final round. Kamal gets the best of it early. He shoots in for a single but Khabib shows really good take down defense again. Now Khabib shoots from way outside but is stuffed. Kamal locks up the guillotine and drops to the mat. It’s an arm-in guillotine and Kamal locks up his guard trying to finish but Khabib squirts his head out. He passes to the right, then takes full mount. Khabib slides to the side and locks up a rear naked choke. He keeps squeezing and gets the tap. Very impressive showing.

Jorge Rivera vs. Eric Schafer
Round 1 – Eric flashes his jab then tries to close. Jorge with a wild right hand that misses. Eric shoots in and gets the takedown. Jorge uses the cage to stand but gets taken right back down. Eric works to side control pretty easily. Eric scoring with short elbows now. He’s stuck in the half guard of Jorge now. Jorge gets his butterfly hooks and sweeps. He’s back to his feet now. Eric presses him against the cage looking to take the fight back to the mat and does. Short right hands to the body from Eric. Jorge stalls the action from his back, but then Eric postures and lands a few punches from the top. Grinding elbows now for Eric. Under a minute to go now. Eric still maintaining top control, until Jorge sweeps with 20 seconds to go. Eric locks up an omoplata as the bell sounds. Round 1 goes to Eric Schafer, 10-9.
Round 2 – Jorge with the one-two to start. Wild right hand just misses by Jorge. Eric changes levels and shoots again looking for the takedown. Nice defense from Jorge against the cage. Eric is still working hard for it as Jorge pulls his leg free. Jorge he dives in after freeing his leg and lands a right hand. He’s pouring it on now with Eric leaning on the cage. Huge right hand as Erick turtles up. Hammerfists now. Eric is eating big right hands as he covers up and it’s all over. Herb Dean stops the action after a flurry of unanswered punches from Jorge Rivera.
**After the fight, an emotional Jorge Rivera acknowledged his retirement and thanked the UFC, his team, and the fans.

Pat Barry vs. Christian Morecraft
Round 1 – Touch of gloves. Christian with the jab, then right hand. Leg kick Pat, but Christian catches it and puts him on his back. Christian working on the neck of Barry, but he’s out and back on his feet. Nice jab from Pat. Leg kick Pat. One-two from Christian then he eats another leg kick. Christian with the jab, but it’s only to set up his takedown attempt. Pat stuffs it initially but then gets put on his back. Arm triangle attempt. Pat scrambles out of trouble but gets caught in an armbar. He jumps across the body of Christian and gets to his feet. Jab Christian. Big kick from Pat. The nose of Christian is bloody now. Big right hand from Christian. Pat leans in and throws a monster left hook that floors Morecraft. He flurries and it’s a right hand that puts him completely out. Big win for Pat Barry.

Mike Easton vs. Jared Papazian
Round 1 – Lots of head movement from Mike. They clinch up and start throwing bombs at each other. Mike puts Jared on the cage now and fires off a short knee. Jared turns and puts Mike against the cage. Knees from both guys land. Dirty boxing from Jared as he slips a couple of right hands through. After a stall, the referee restarts them. Mike is stalking Jared as he circles. Leg kicks by both guys land. Big kick from Mike. Jared lands a stiff jab. Looping right hand just misses by Jared. Mike still coming forward. Nice three-punch combo from Easton. Huge leg kick by Mike. Knee to the body scores for Jared. Back-and-forth round so far. Jared scores with a left hook, buts get countered by a right hand. One minute to go. Big exchange again. Spinning back kick to the body from Mike. He’s stalking again, and lands a solid left hook. Leg kick Jared. Mike fires one off as well. Knee in the clinch as both guys swing for the fences to end the round. Round 1 goes to Mike Easton, 10-9.
Round 2 – Big lead left hook for Jared to start. Blistering leg kick scores for Mike. Both guys throw and land in a nice exchange. Mike still coming forward. Jared slips a punch and lands a nice right hand. Mike doubles up his jab but doesn’t land it. He’s flashing it more this round. Jared keeps circling. Nice right hand from Mike. Jared comes back swinging. Huge leg kick from Mike, and he follows up with a straight right hand down the middle that connects. Jared clinches and puts Easton on the cage. Mike turns him and fires off knees to the thighs. Jared reverses and lands a short elbow. Knees now from Mike against the cage as boos erupt. The referee responds and resets them. Mike throws a three-punch combo but only the last one scores. They exchange in the pocket and it’s Jared that wins the exchange with a stiff right hook. Jared closes and puts Mike on the cage, but then gets taken down. Mike on top now landing left hands. He moves to side control with 45 seconds to go. Jared uses the cage to stand and then puts Mike into the cage. They break and Mike comes forward again. Nice jab from Jared. Big left hook lands for Mike. Jared shoots but ends up on the bottom as the bell sounds. 10-9 Easton.
Round 3 – Big combo of punches and kicks from Mike to start. Jared comes forward and lands a flurry of his own. Lots of action in this one. Jared closes and puts Mike on the cage again. Jared with a knee inside. Mike turns him and tries to lock his hands for a takedown attempt but can’t. The referee stops the action again as Jared complains of a low blow. Jared scores with a left hand after Mike throws a kick and spins. Back to the clinch again. Very close fight. To the body now as Mike stalks. Nice right hand by Jared. Mike is looking for the body now and Jared looks like he’s hurt. Big exchange as both guys stay in the pocket and throw. Nice body shot again. Big left hook. Jared stays inside and fires back. Plum clinch now from Easton as he throws a knee down the middle. Jared presses him into the cage and the crowd boos. Break. Uppercut-left hook from Jared. Another kick from Mike. He’s relentless in his attack. Mike lands a right hand and Jared is hurt. He goes down for a second but bounces right back up, and puts Mike on the cage. Double jab scores for Jared. He’s switching stances now. They meet in the middle of the Octagon and throw huge shots. Jared lands a staggering uppercut but Mike walks through it. They swing to the bell. Great fight.

Duane Ludwig vs. Josh Neer
Round 1 – This one is going to be a blast kids. Jab from Duane as Neer comes forward swinging. Great one-two from Duane. He steps to the side and clips Josh with a right hand. Josh clinches and works for the takedown. He doesn’t get it, and they separate. After the break Duane swings over the top and Josh lands with a right hand. Huge exchange. These guys are throwing everything. Big knee up the middle from Duane. Neer’s mouthpiece hit the mat so they stop to put it back in. Fight on. Duane ducks and hits the body. Josh lands a right hand. Big knees from Duane after a nice exchange. Josh has a leg and is looking for a single. Good balance by Duane initially but now he’s on his back. He kicks off and tries to stand but Josh is all over him. Duane kicks off and tries to stand but as he does, Josh dives in and locks up a guillotine. It looks very tight. Duane looks like he’s completely out. Josh tells the referee he’s out and it’s stopped. After Josh lets go Duane collapses to the mat unconscious.

Melvin Guillard vs. Jim Miller
Round 1 – Miller swings first. Melvin with a stiff left hand. Flying knee by Melvin lands down the middle. Melvin lands and drops Jim, but he’s back up and shooting for a takedown. He gets it, but Melvin is right back up. Nice knee by Melvin on the break. Miller has an amazing chin. Leg kick by Jim, Melvin counters with a right hand. Melvin goes high with the kick but it’s blocked. Jim drives forward and puts Melvin on the cage. Clean break. Jim coming forward. Melvin is staying patient. He circles out and lands another flying knee but gets taken down for his effort. Melvin scrambles and Jim takes his back and drops to the mat. He locks up the rear naked choke and gets the tap. Amazing finish for Jim Miller.
